Early mornings, hard work, and good food.
According to Rosalie (the daughter of Linton's pilot friend, Bill Abbott) who visited the farm as a child many times, the Jones's lives revolved largely around food.
The men were up early before the sun rose to have a quick bite to eat before starting work. This usually consisted of bread with dripping, and a cup of tea. They would then head out to start milking the cows.
A couple of hours later in the morning they would come back to the house for a full cooked breakfast, prepared by Roberta who she described as "tiny, vivacious, jolly and hardworking".
The rest of the day was shorts bursts of hard physical labor, doing other farm work, interspersed with a good feed. Lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, and some supper right before turning in for the night. Roberta practically never left the kitchen! By all accounts, Roberta was a great cook, and she cooked everything on an old fashioned wood-burning stove, too. It wasn't uncommon for over twenty people to be crowded around the dining table on a Sunday, at 'The Bluffs'.

Innes and Linton sung a lot in the evenings to entertain everyone. Linton also played violin and Mandolin Harp. Innes was a fun loving man, full of jokes and pranks according to family and friends, and was always either whistling or singing while he worked.
